Apologies: Adele Morrison.

Matters arising

Minutes from last meeting approved.

Colour to paint lower bit of counter

Blackboard paint, on a sheeet of ply, fastened over the existing laminate (so's not to ruin it). Just paint the front of the counter, below the coffee machine. Dark green blackboard paint with cream trim. (The blackboard to be used for coffee prices etc.)

Including financial information on website

We will not publish any of our current financial information on we website. If any member wants to know more, they can approach the collective.

ANU Students Association GM motion to affiliate ANU Food Cooperative Ltd.

Greg to talk to Marina (who is next year's Sexuality Officer) about raising this motion. The next GM is early next year.

Kitchen Policy

No food in kitchen because of ants. Keep doors closed.

Nat will make signs for this on Wednesday.

New Staffing Roster: New second full-time manager proposal

Deferred until next MC meeting (after AGM). General idea: when Nat leaves, have two managers (mon-thurs, thurs-sun).

Monday deliveries: Two

Future Pancake/Juice Sundays: Open Mic afternoons, with Coffee & Scones

A great idea! Mark will put things together a bit more.

Selling Greens' Undies

We will sell the Greens undies. We'll ask the Greens to set up the display area under the air conditioner).

Cocoa organic in bulk (from Columbia)

We will get bulk, organic, non-fairtrade cocoa.

Update on Café

More people this Tuesday than before. Dioni's lattés are getting better. A big thankyou is due to Poppy for the flyers etc.

Point-of-sale system

We've been awarded a grant to buy POS harware (not software nor labour to build the software). It will be possible to use existing Free and Open Source Software (FOSS).

We will purchase:

  • Scales;
  • POS poles to hold up monitors;
  • Screens for poles;
  • Cash drawer;
  • Receipt printer;
  • Cordless keyboards.

Next MC nominations

Mark and Dioni will likely be leaving in the middle of next year. Nat's leaving soon. Sam doesn't want to continue on the board. Greg would be happy to remain as treasuerer. Adele is thought to want to stay on. Madelaine might want to as well. We'll ask Cedar what she's up for.

Aiming at seven nominations. Need a secretary.

Summer business hours

Stick all even slightly perishable foods in the cool- and cold-rooms. Key list and weekly check of the premises. Greg and Sam will be around.

Last day before Christmas: Sunday December 23rd. Re-open: Wednesday, January the 16th, 2008.

Air-conditioning

Currently set at 24˚C. Need to keep the door closed, but there's problems with the operation of its handle.

Fridge Repair

Brown fridge keeps freezing up. Seals are still good, but might need a new compressor. Or new refrigerant. We'll get quotes to fix it.

Membership Approval

All new members were approved.

Financial Report

Presented and approved.

Dehydrator

We'll buy a dehydrator. Dioni to investigate.

Next Meeting & Close

The next management collective meeting (which will be after the AGM) will be decided by the new collective.

Meeting closed 7:15PM.
